Why did you take Growly Notes off the App Store? Then it will remember what notebooks were open. Use the Quit command (command-Q) to quit Notes. So when you clicked on the Dock icon for Notes, it was still running, and since no notebooks were open it asked what you wanted to do. You didn't actually quit Notes - you clicked the red button in the window title bar, which does not quit the app, it just closes all the notebooks. Why does Notes ask me what I want to do when I restart it instead of remembering what notebooks were open?
